Earlier this week I was blessed with the opportunity to speak for the Bowie County Patriots. They gather every Thursday evening at Big Jake's BBQ in Nash, Texas.
When my book came out, Ground Raised Quail, the organizer reached out to see if I would be interested in speaking to their group.
I remember saying to him, “I wasn’t sure if it was a good fit, since they are a political group.” So, I recommended he ask if this topic would be of importance.
Sure, enough they had decided to do a month of “self-reliance” type things and I was a good fit.
Absolutely I would be there, and we booked it.
It’s been a few years since I have put myself out there and I will be honest, I was a little nervous. The room was full and when I looked out, I
realized I was among friends.
I was among good people, and it warmed my heart. Our heavenly father just gave me what I needed to deliver my story and experience on raising quail.
The questions that followed were fantastic, they just kept coming and as I stood there answering them, I thought wow, I think some of them may actually decide to raise quail.
Which made me smile even bigger.
Several times I looked over to Robert; he was just beaming. He has always been so supportive of everything I have ever wanted to do and to see him engaged was the best.
On our drive home, I mentioned that this was the most
fun I’ve ever had speaking. It was completely different from when I spoke
for Texas Home and Garden or when I taught DIY workshops.
If your group or organization might be interested in learning how to raise quail for the purpose of eggs and meat, then I’m your gal.
It was so incredibly good, and I’ve decided that why not keep doing it.
Let’s do this, contact me to get on my schedule.
