When it comes to being present, I often reflect on showing
up. Something I tend to resist because solitude is my form of paradise.
I can go days without leaving our homebase feeling completely real with a sense of contentment. I like feeling content, this allows me to clear my head, understand what God has instore in addition to seeing the glorious details.
I do however recognize the importance of being present, I just find difficultly in where this should take place.
So instead of picking a destination I embrace
where the wind takes me. This could be a grocery store, the laundry mat or whatever…
These outings are also known as errands, but I use them to uplift others.
Just the other day Robert and I were getting a truck load of soil and Kramer was spotted inside the truck. The cashier came out and asked if she could pet him, then another gal came to pet him.
He loved the attention, and they were filled with joy, but more importantly they were thankful for the opportunity to interact with him.
I
stopped for a moment thinking this was a great day to be present.
We can go through life and miss these details when our attention is distracted. Or you can decide what is more important, what is happening right in front of you.
When you uplift others, you have this neat way of also uplifting yourself without even thinking about it. The moment is genuine and real; that is the importance of being present.
Be the Good,
