Last weekend we went on a drive to Gilmer where we visited an outdoor artisan market. It was a beautiful day with cooler temperatures, and my hopes were set pretty high.
I was looking for a neat experience and that's what we found as we chatted with each vendor.
One in particular Candice Pniak, the creator and owner of Repeat Threads. A very talented lady with a humble heart.
I fell in love with her soft hand warmers made from recycled sweaters.
All of her products are one of a kind and I was blown away by the level of detail, creativity and personal touch.
Repeat Threads Grand Inventory
I will admit, I was slightly overwhelmed with her grand inventory. I could have purchased one of everything, if I wasn't so frugal.
But when I say her inventory is grand, I am not kidding.
Everything from, hats, mittens, wallets, bags and purses. She even had ponchos that were so pretty.
She loves to browse through thrift stores and goodwill to find her materials and then creativity takes over.
I just think it's inspiring that Candace is able to turn her style into a business. Why? Because I am burned out on retail America and the latest trends.
I am at a place in life where less is more and being able to chat with the person who crafted their product is a positive reminder there is good out there.
We don't need more we need "better" and these stories should be shared.
My Artisan Hand Warmers
For me, the hand warmers are perfect because I am a bit of an outdoor nut. This time of year, it can be difficult to keep my hands warm, especially when gardening, going on walks or just clearing land.
They even match my "down" vest perfectly.
To shop with Repeat Threads, you will need to make contact through email to get locations and upcoming events.
Her website is easy to navigate, and she does offer custom work. So, if you have some sentimental pieces of fabric or clothing, I bet she could turn them into something wonderful.
I am hoping to run into her again at the East Texas Artisan Market because I have a feeling one of those hats might be coming home.
Encouraging Goodness,
Carole West
