For years I have used a garden journal and a planner. They both worked but I always wanted a more personal space because it felt my notes skipped a beat.
A good example, too much information or not enough. I would quickly lose interest in keeping up and eventually these booklets were tossed.
I basically wanted something that had my stamp; that could be duplicatable for others to use.
Last year I took that idea to heart.
After my garden book was published I created a planner that had a place for handwritten notes in addition to creating page titles and sheets to keep track of everything.
But more important, I had a space for design because I am always changing things.
My goal was simple and that was to bring everything forward with a healthy balance. These favorite garden tips and planner became the foundation of my garden notebook.
So now let's walk through how this all works as one.

The Garden Notebook
I created a garden book using a three-ring binder. This wasn't an earth-shaking idea nor was it original, but this simple step allowed me to design my planner the way I wanted. The next purchase included a few more things all of which can be purchased at any office supply store.
- Notebook Paper
- Graph Paper
- Clear Cover Pages with Tabs
- Additional Clear Cover Pages
- Printer for the Cover Pages
These supplies allowed me to organize everything we are growing on our property because it's a lot.
But the real beauty of this garden notebook is we can pass it down to the next generation.
Favorite Garden Tips and Planner Pages
To begin this printable is my free gift to you as we kick off 2026.
There is a total of 15 pages, the first four are my tips in addition to one page of simple instructions on how to put everything together.
There are multiple cover pages, and my favorite is the easy-to-use seed planting pages. One is set prior to the first frost and the other for fall planting.
Calendar pages are another bonus to help you track progress and stay on track.
Add your own touch to this planner because remember this notebook is something for the next generation. Little stories along the way will keep this an interesting read and hopefully spark a new series of gardeners in your family.
You can get my printable PDF here for free and make sure to download after receiving in your email.
I want you to have a successful growing season and that all begins with keeping track of your activity.
No one is expected to remember every little detail, and nothing beats handwritten notes that can be treasured for years to come.
Encouraging Goodness,
