In February I announced that I was going on a writing break. I was beginning to feel like a wildflower, here today and gone tomorrow.
The days were blending into the seasons and that's probably because I was doing too many things at the same time.
Life became noisy, when all I wanted was the softness of natural beauty and what comes next.
Space was needed from everything and I believed in the calm of winter ending, this was my time.
The point of the break was to blend my gifts, feel calm, turn down the volume and make some positive decisions. I wanted to feel energized daily instead of drained.
By taking advantage of the stillness from February - April, I noticed a shift within just a couple weeks.
There was a variation of emotion...
When I got rid of my calendar things became quiet, less rushed and the calm felt incredible.
The break was good and I am so excited to return to my blog with a focus on encouraging goodness through creative living. Now if you are wondering what that means, I have explained here.
What Comes Next
The most important thing was to figure out what comes next. To do that, I had to place myself above everyone else. This was difficult and healthy; I noticed right off where my energy was being drained. This doesn't mean pushing everyone you love aside, it means taking care of you first. So, when when it comes time to show up, you are present because you want to be.
Think about that for a minute...
More important there is no shame in dialing back, this helps improve your ability to thrive. Daily navigation should not drain our well being, it should energize and shine bright with natural beauty and that's what comes next.
