My writing career began in 2014 through my blog, Garden Up Green.

Eleven years later I continue blogging because I enjoy this writing style.  

In the early days I had a simple goal and that was to see my articles published in magazines.  I quickly became a self-taught freelance writer for several national magazines.  A fantastic experience is the best way to describe that timespan.

My goal became a reality and for several years I was freelancing in addition to blogging.  This opportunity allowed me to work directly with a variety of editors and publishing companies. 

When I decided to write my first book, I did additional research on publishing and self-publishing.  At the time the second was not popular and there were multiple pros and cons for both.

It was clear that media was evolving, magazines were on their way out, fewer people were reading and since my book ideas were for "doers" my audience was limited.  

Pitching ideas and waiting years to publish my first book was not what I had in mind.  So, I took the experience I already had and introduced myself to self-publishing.  

I love the freedom and never regrated this decision.

A door opened to opportunity and before I knew it, I was helping other writers design their book covers in addition to copy editing and proofreading.
