August is always hot in Texas and every summer I mention
going somewhere cooler to get a break from the heat. We never do, instead we get comfortable
indoors and I start thinking about Fall.
For me being stuck inside isn’t all bad because I have more
time to write and watercolor paint. Most recently I went back to smaller painting which inspired me to make these greeting
cards.
I love painting small, there is something intimate and
relaxing about it.
The greeting card inventory is growing so after sorting through each one I decided to arrange them in sets of three.
I am keeping true with everything being original. I continue to ponder printed work, but with free form watercolor painting you lose the "heart" in the printing process.
There is something about the color mixing and water movement
in its original state where detail comes to life. This process makes each greeting card unique and if
desired they can even be suitable for framing.
It's almost like you are getting a "greeting gift card" that is blank on the inside so you can also write a handwritten note. Remember those?
So, where I may spend more hours painting than most, rest assure that each card comes from the heart and a lot of my work surfaces in the
summer when it’s too hot to be outdoors.
Right now, I have fall on the brain and coming up close, my watercolor greeting cards will be available in September.
See the good,
Carole
