For some, writing is about rhythm and passion. To become better you must practice and move yourself to think deeper.
But what makes a writer want to put words into place?
My friend Brenda Wyatt says there are three things you always need no matter what when creating or offering your life or work.
- Instinct
- Intuition
- Imagination
I met Brenda around the end of 2024 through Instagram. She is a wiz and brings forward some of the most meaningful content.
She also writes a blog, Camellia's Cottage and has some neat writing courses available here. She is an amazing creative with vision.
Why is this important to me? I am an extremely visual person and when I took her course related to visual marketing it was a game changer.
It forced me to look within, where the good was buried. My problem was, I didn't know how to bring my feelings to the surface without sounding choppy.
I always felt like I was under constant attack when I shared my heart and it became a problem.
The funny thing is when I went deeper I began carrying less and less about the opinion of others. I began liking my authentic self and wanted to keep writing. My writing actually got better...
So when she invited me to her Writer's Sanctuary, I have to admit I was a little timid and it took me awhile to jump in and start sharing.
There are also times when I feel like the outsider on the edge, but that's on me because I pretty much go through life this way. I simply don't "fit in" and I am starting to see that as a good thing.
With all that aside, I make the effort to join in every Saturday with anticipation of what the new writing prompt will be. It's been fascinating and the last one really pushed me to dig deep.
I have enjoyed this writers sanctuary, it is like an extension of her courses and if you write then you know that having some sort of community is key to unlocking what we sometimes hide inside.

If you are looking for a connection, I would first recommend reading one of her blog posts, maybe two. Then jump over to her writing course and see if that might be helpful.
Once you take the course I believe that is what opens the door to the Writer's Sanctuary.
Reach out to Brenda, she is very personable, a good friend and don't forget to follow her Instagram. You will enjoy each post and story...
Thank you for joining me today. Remember there is never a subscription here, simply join in by sharing your thoughts in the comments.
